no journal, ,

In this report, we show the numerical study on the spin Seebeck effect by considering the magnetization dynamics in the presence of thermal gradient. The dynamics of the magnetization is given by solving the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation. We introduce the random magnetic field originated from finite temperatures which depends on the position. We calculate the spin current driven by the magnon in ferromagnetic sample. We also discuss the spin pumping to the normal probe attached to the sample for detecting the spin current.

Electric detection of spin wave resonance using inverse spin-Hall effect

Ieda, Junichi

no journal, ,

Spin wave resonance in Ni$$_{81}$$Fe$$_{19}$$/Pt thin wire arrays has been investigated using the inverse spin-Hall effect (ISHE). The spin wave in the Ni$$_{81}$$Fe$$_{19}$$ layer drives spin pumping, generation of spin currents from magnetization precession, and the pumped spin current is converted into a charge current by ISHE in the Pt layer. We found an electromotive force (emf) transverse to the spatial and the spin-polarization directions of the spin current. The induced emf can be analyzed by a model calculation based on the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbart equation combined with spin pumping theory. The results show that the amplitude of the emf is proportional to the spin wave resonance absorption intensity, enablingthe electric measurement of spin wave resonance in nanostructured magnetic systems.
